July 9th, 2011 – It’s the first time we stepped on an international stage. Our bumping hearts were full of confidence and excitement. We knew it’s the time that we should all work together to reach our goal. From that, the only voice all our members heard from the bottom of our hearts was, “Try our best and let them everyone know what we enjoy. Just win!”
On the stage, colors of rainbow were laid out. It’s a feeling of sunshine, just like our first song, Spring. While we were playing, we left all our anxiety behind, simply did our best, and enjoyed the music. When it’s time for solo, we’re just like three birds singing on the branches: the movement of our body was showing how happy the butterflies were dancing along with millions of flowers opening to welcome the spring. When it started to quiet down, the breeze blew softly through the grass.
Next, the second song we played, the Sabre Dance, was so fast that the audience barely saw our hands moving! To keep up with the pace, we used our bodies to help and it looked like we were dancing, but only with the sticks, instead of swords. After we played the soft part of Sabre Dance, I had a strong feeling of how powerful teamwork could be. I believed everyone there felt the same way, even the judges! I thought this was the special part of our team. It was the understanding, by eye contacts, body movements and encouraging others even when they didn’t play as well as most of the team members. By that, some judges were nodding their heads, tapping their feet, and even recording for us! It felt like winning! Finally, it’s over! We got off the stage and thought that we really did a fantastic job!
